You were sitting in the car while it was being flat bedded?

Yes and a 45 minute drive to my home.

I'm surprised they let you do that, especially in CA. That's always my dread if I had to have the 914 'towed'. (especially post-COVID). They would leave me standing beside the road and say to call an UBER.

Had to flatbed my 2017 991 (destroyed rear tire). My wife and I rode in the truck cab, first to the tow company HQ and then to the nearest town where we could get a tire.

It’s legal if there isn’t room in the cab of the tow truck.

Rode in the cab, two adults and two dogs, Audi on the bed with a screaming, gushing
water pump.
Nursed it 100 miles to get within 100 miles from home. Dead of winter, Vt.to NJ.

Hi Bill,
What is the red object you have added in the front trunk? An inertia switch for the fuel pump?
@PanelBilly Thanks, Matt

Carry a box of critical parts in the trunk. Doubt roadside service could replace the fuel pump on the roadside, though - certainly I no longer can.

You guessed it. I got it from a Napa. It’s a replacement for some car but I don’t remember what model. I might find the receipt in my records if you need one.

Sorry to hear Billy, I always worry about get stranded, it should be an easy fix.maybe just a relay or fuse ? Be sure to use a genuine Bosch replacement.
For the ride home, just pretend you’re in a parade and give everyone a wave
