I have a passenger door/window (late scissor style actuator) that is fairly smooth when rolling the glass down until about the last inch or two, at which point it feels loose or like the glass drops down to it’s final resting position. I think I had this on one of my first 914s and just ignored it.. is there a fix?

..Remove the door panel and observe what’s actually going on inside. That should point you toward the right fix… yea the panel is off for refurbishment, and I can see the actuator tube... but I mean, it's a tube/loop, with the inner working mechanism facing away from view, so not much to see from simple observation at least. I'd hate to have to remove the entire thing, but maybe that's necessary(?) |

If it is the early “tube” there is an adjustment on the bottom of the door about 1/3 from the front of the door. See the factory manual, there are directions on how to do it. |

Sounds like the glass has separated from the lower channel. It's supposed to be held in place by the channel.
