Is this the correct orientation for the assembly of this oil slinger shield and seal? It's hard to see but the o-ring is already installed on the nose of the crankshaft. TIA. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

I remember pulling it off during the tear-down, which was documented with many photos but can't find a pic of this coming off the crank. Anyone?

You sure about that? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Haven't ever seen an oilslinger on the front of a type iv crankshaft. But, it needs the right o-ring and seal to keep it from leaking.

BTW your quick progress with multiple parts of your project motivates me.

That's the question I had but didn't ask! Is this even suppose in a type 4 engine? I've taken several 1.7 and 1.8 engines apart but this was my first 2.0L so I thought it was something particular to this model.
