Bought this from @914Sixer 4 years ago and I'm thinking about installing it in the LE. I'm sure it's not the exact radio for an LE but it might be the one I go with for now. Question: what are all these pieces, I forget. The metal tabs look like hanger-type hardware. How does it install? I'm wondering if I'm missing anything. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) What about these weird looking connections? Speaker inputs I assume. Is this other wire a ground? Sorry, not a radio expert. TIA. Plug and play. You have to pull knobs and face off radio. Drop radio in hole. Slot the locking bars and tighten them up. Put a back strap on to support the radio. Ground for radio is back strap. Single black wire is for 12V + to switched source. Other two wires are for R & L speakers, they are marked on the case.
Yes it is a correct available radio for 1974 LE. Radio was introduced in 1972. |

I have one of these but 6 button - a little extravagance from a later year - 1978 what year code is yours ? these are worth a good detailed installation mine takes a minute or two to warm up properly also make sure you have a good aerial and good speakers - mine are from Konigs autoradio in Haan Germany HTH Dennis (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |
