Not sure if you’ve seen these cool shirts that celebrate our love of the manual transmission. I love them. No affiliation. My three daughters have been taught the Jedi skill.
The least I can do is buy them these shirts today. Got 15% off plus when you buy three you get free shipping lol but true. I probably should buy my mom one too. She always wants to drive Lilly‘s 914. My brother and I rode dirt bikes for a short time so we were pretty familiar with a clutch and timing. When Dad taught us to drive stick shift I was about 12 and my brother was about 14. He took us to the Rio Hondo JC parking lot in our 1972 Pinto runabout— brought himself a six pack of beer and let us go to town lol but true. |

@914xr75 ** Rio Hondo in the summer time is a dry river bed and when my biz was in So. El Monte, we took the 3.2L Syncro Vanagon down in there (approx where the RC planes fly) for pics / magazine articles. Both 'VW & Porsche and 'Hot VWs did stories on the van. Today the Whittier Narrows park ranger would lock us up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

@malltese falcon Back in 1976 I used to fly my foam .049 engined rc plane over your photo shoot. I probably didn’t spoil your shoot, I would usually crash down to earth a few seconds after takeoff. Lol.

That's an awesome TEE ! sidenote: there is a 'Blonde joke about that dimmer switch activation during a gal's DMV driving test ...but best to discuss in the 'Sandbox ¡¡ |

Lol. At age 10/12 kid... the 'Cox (brand) model plane flying was pre-RC...on a string control (flaps). I would use the local HS parking lot on Sunday AM and I could spin in a circle usually 12-15 orbits before fuel ran out and glided her in. Best plane to fly was Cox JU-87 Stuka (dive bomber) which had an extra hand control for jettison of the small plastic shaped tube w/ fins (bomb): and when the model plane box was flipped over= target bullseye was printed there. What a hobby that was, never cut a finger on prop start up, and the scent of 'Thimble-drone fuel...still dizzy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) |
