My car has returned from the repair shop with a dime sized scrape on the brown backpad on the far right side between the passenger seat and door opening. Of course, no one knows who did it or how it happened.
The damage is not a true hole thru the vinyl, but a deep scratch you can feel when running your finger over it.
Does anyone have any recommendations for repar?
I have seen various patch kits and paints but not sure which really work.
Probably unlikely to find the original brown vinyl material anywhere?
I would appreciate your thoughts on how to repair and any products you have found to work. Thanks,

Here’s what I’ve done that works well:
Clean the area well; let dry.
Use translucent Phenoseal vinyl adhesive caulk; daub a small amount to cover the spot. I use a tongue depresser. Ok to moisten the stick and smooth out the edges. Let dry 24 hours.
Do a second finishing coat, again with moist stick to smooth. Let dry another 24 hours.
Apply some brown shoe polish, maybe two coats. Buff just a bit.
Not perfection but effective. If you have one closely matching brown latex paint or can mix some, that works, too.
Hope this helps.
