I was just curious if anyone ever installed an AAR valve from a different model car in place of the stock unit. I recently repaired a stuck one, and with such tight clearances inside, it is easy to see how corrosion got them to get stuck and will likely happen again over time.

You could attempt to use the later L-jet style as they were used on far more cars, however they physically don't fit in the 914 engine bay layout as well so you would have to run some new plumbing.
I find the best/quickest way to deal with one that is acting up is just to cap it off and feather the throttle for the first minute or so on warm up. |
