Looking for source for bolts for rear brake dust shields …M-8 but really short.
The ones at my local Ace just a bit too long.

I think those are M8 x 10 or 12. If you don't want to buy Porsche, hit Belmetric. They have both. Shipping will probably cost more than the bolts.

Yes. Just thread a nut on first so the threads get chased when you unscrew the nut.

I always grind the ends flat and then a nice chamfer on the ends of the bolts I cut. That generally eliminates the need to re-chase the threads with a nut or something, haven’t done that in years. Of course, you need a decent bench grinder.
