Typically ..Im troubleshooting a Cust. car were someone thought it was a good idea to hack off pins & reroute circuits (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif)
Did a bit of searching for the correct position & color coding of the contained wires. I have a couple of cars around here that I could pull the cover off to check (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) but its dark & raining & Im lazy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif) The question du jour is do all chassis harnesses have generally the same wire color scheme ? I did notice some use a solid Yellow vs Yellow w/ red for Pin #1 but the rest seems pretty consistent, except for Pin #6 = Oil press (black) Some cars have it others dont (empty) is this normal? This is a question for @JeffBowlsby , He has probably seen more wiring harnesses than anyone!

There's at least two versions (early vs. late) (might even be three) with several different wires.

I know that 14pin connector circuits has differences between some of model years. Recommend checking the schematics for model year specifics.

Differences? They all connect to the same (except the /6) relay board that I know of?
If I wasnt clear I was just curious if on base cars w/o an oil temp in the combo guage or console the wiring was left out? |

The schematics indicate that all years have OT circuits at the 14 pin...except for 1972.

If I wasnt clear I was just curious if on base cars w/o an oil temp in the combo guage or console the wiring was left out? Found a thread with pics. There are two wires different early vs. late in the 14 pin /4 connector layout. Pin 11 and Pin 6 Also worth noting that Pin 85 and 86 are filpped on all the relays and the 12 pin connector has a different pin-out as well. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=252880 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bye1.gif) |
