I put my car back together recently. I think everything is as it should be. Yesterday I started it and it ran for like 10 seconds and then died. I wasn't able to give it gas cause I wasn't fully seated in the car.

Today when I got in the car the generator light was on.

I started it and it ran for like 30 seconds then died. The gas pedal seemed unresponsive. Now it will crank but makes no signs of sparking. I'm only getting 7.5 volts on the + side of the coil with the ignition on.

Address your low voltage at the coil issue. What is the battery voltage measured at the battery posts?

7.5volts with ignition on is way too low. When you crank the voltage at the coil will drop even lower and won’t spark with enough intensity.

What happens if my injectors are plugged in backwards? Does it matter which way the plug is inserted?

I had been fighting with my original injection harness. I decided to use a different harness that wasn't so brittle.

My coil voltage is up. It's cranking really well. It's not even sputtering though. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be sparking. It has fuel pressure. I don't know which way the injector plugs are supposed to go. I guess I should just flip the plugs and see what happens.

I think they were plugged in backwards. I flipped them. It sputtered. It's coming back to life.

Doesn't matter which way. Something else is up.

I still haven't resolved this.

Sometimes when I turn the ignition switch to crank the starter, the car completely loses power. This is a pretty recent development, I think. If I disconnect the battery and reconnect it, the car powers on as normal. Is there some kind of protection relay or something that is getting tripped by maybe a short in the switch?

Right now I'm still getting around 6 volts on the + side of the coil with the ignition on.

Could my problem have something to do with my ignition switch?

yeah

way too low.

test battery. make sure its healthy. 12.4 - 12.8 V at rest. ideal. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I think I got it. I had to map out the circuit. I got it up to 12.5 this evening. I'll try to start it tomorrow. I think it was a bad connection at the relay board. I took everything apart to check voltages at different spots. Once it was back together I had 12.5 on the coil.

If that doesn't cure it, check your grounds. Adding an extra ground strap from the shroud to the neg terminal might help diagnose.
