74 2.0 project nearing completion testing things out then….hook up battery headlights go up but not on switch on lights close and turn on also-brake lights on when key on… got something wrong

Did you unplug all the leads on the fuse panel during the rebuild?

Check the brake pedal switch. From memory, it has a lever that is pushed to open the circuit when the pedal is at rest.

This is the circuit for the headlight motors. It sounds like the wires to the headlight motors is reversed likely at the headlight switch.

Anyone have a pic or a layout for that switch?theres a lot of wires on it I do not recall unplugging any

Here's a thread with info on the headlight switch connections.

Seems like the wires on 30B and 56K are reversed.
