Hello everyone,

Some of you know me, some don’t. I used to be heavily involved in 914’s. A few months ago, an old friend referred to me as a 914 OG… I laughed. But it got me thinking… why aren’t I still involved? To me, it’s just about the passion for the little car, and I had lost it.

Anyway, some of you may look up my old build thread, that car was very special, modified suspension pick ups, Ohlins shocks, and a Hewland gearbox. Last I checked, in EP, I’m still the highest finishing 914-6 ever at the Runoffs (2005), same year that a 914-4 driven by Mark Hotchkiss won in FP. My kids were little when I did that, and I went from racing myself, to coaching, to engineering other people’s cars, managing other peoples teams. I went through a divorce, my kids now grown, I never left racing.

I took a position last year as team engineer with Hendricks Motorsports, Daytona Beach Florida, owned by Ms. Kimberlee Hendricks. For those of you that are IMSA fans, we just won the Daytona MX5 race 1 with Noah Harmon. It’s been a lot of work over the years, through prototypes, GT, GT4, Carrera Cup, but I always thought about the 914.

Over the next few months, I’m going to start the second part of my 914 journey. I’ve got some really special cars to buy, finish, and hopefully bring 914’s back into my life.
