I have a brown wire hanging under the dash and I don't know where it should connect. The free end has an odd terminal on it. The other end is connected to the top of the speedometer. There is a second brown wire connected to the same spot on the speedometer.

On my wiring diagram, the only brown listing I see for the speedo is From: GND_Gauge_Daisy_Chain, To: GND_INST_PANEL. This doesn't really help me.

Any ideas?

The connector is added on, not original. Maybe for radio ?
There are many ground males on the back of the instruments and brown jumper
wires between. Make certain each gauge is grounded.

That's part of the ground daisy chain I believe. It's for a radio. If everything else works you can remove it. BTDT. Notice the male conversion tab.
