I’m surprised this is garnering such high bids.

You and me both! All it takes is two bidders who really want a car for the price to skyrocket. Looks like a neat car, but I'm not a fan of the chopped rollbar look. My opinion is that 65K would have been better spent on a true 6.

I was just in disbelief that anyone was interested in an air cooled car that had a fully enclosed engine. Hey, maybe Ferdinand had it all wrong.

Although I will say the 914 as a whole looks pretty nice.

yeah. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

but you know what they say about fools and their money.

BAT covers all segments of the market including the moron element.
100% democratic. and thats to be celebrated. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
probably a couple of drug dealers engaged in a bidding war to buy this one.

I have a friend of mine who says "There is an ass for every seat " Never saw the point to make them convertibles and ensure your death in a roll over and weaken the body already prone to twisting.

I can forgive most of that work. Looks like they spent some time on it. And a 2.2 six, bet it sings. Some cooling would be nice and a roll bar for life. What I'm wondering is will this new owner finish the car and install the front flares.
