Jumped in the seat to move the car and was greeted by this. What the hell, I figured after 51 years if the dash hadn't cracked yet I was in the clear as long as I took care of it. Now I'll always be giving the dash the side eye, waiting for it to get worse.

Rust, and aging of plastic, never sleep.

We could prevent rust by keeping our cars in a vacuum, but even that would not help plastic.
