These were in my 73. Thought the room might like to see a set. Still work!

I thought they were supposed to be 4 OHM at the time.

As far as I remember, 8 ohm was pretty standard for automotive speakers back then.

I thought they were supposed to be 4 OHM at the time.

I did some brief research on this. There is some evidence to suggest the early 70s radios are meant to have 8 ohm speakers. Later cars 4 ohms.

Thanks to Radiomuseum.org, I found a manual for our specific model 1970 Frankfurt US 7639670. It it indicated 5,8 ohm. The Zenith speakers in the car measure ~6 Ohm.

Here is one of mine, '70 factory -6. Doesn't appear to have ohms noted.
Although I have no way of knowing if the radio/speaker was factory or dealer installed. Nothing listed on CoA.

The ones I took out of my 74 2.0 look similar to the above - someone here said they are more or less OEM. No name...

These look really close to mine. Do they work? Gonna swap in some new somethings for sure.

Your +/- are the same terminal size no? Mine are not.

I don't have the radio on very much, but both speakers work. Not sure about + or - terminals; they are the same size and been a long time since I traced the wires back to the actual radio,

Yes, they do. Did - I took them out, in their place is a pair of modern 4x6’s with custom adapters to the OEM housings.

These custom adapters, make them or buy them? The originals are an odd size. Photo?
