What are my options? Does anyone offer a conversion kit other than Supertec?
I'm going to run a 2.4 MFI engine for a while. I don't want to weld up an MFI hot air bung in my factory heat exchangers. |

There are a number of fuel injection components that also need to be fitted. Might be easier to put the webers you have for your project.

Fuel pump swap, low to high pressure...and hi-press fuel lines (stainless already in tunnel) Fuel filter console Warm up regulator/enrichment solution What else? Swap 911 engine tin for 914-6 MFI tin Choice of aircleaners stock vs modified Configure horizontal trombone cooler with oil lines Maybe Ferg and Emory will weigh in...its their fault. : ) |

I may have just figured it out. My tin has the MFI tube, and my HEs also have the warm up tube. No mods needed, other than some hose. : )

You also need the RPM transducer to activate the idle position solenoid on the MFI pump

If you can just hook up the hose, that'll be easiest for sure.
If you want to replicate the Supertec style manual lever to replace the bellows on the MFI pump, it's not technically difficult, but would require a bit of engineering and fabrication. I'd think McMaster Carr or similar probably has a lever and cable mechanism, and you'd have to make a cover plate and cable mount to replace the warmup bellows on the MFI pump. |

Hey,
Use the electric heater for the bimetall. It's faster anyway. Don't forget the relay. CheeRS Dirk |

Sell the MFI and go EFI
One of our customer builds in progress is insisting on MFI with manual cold start controls. The instructions that come with the kit to start the car are ELEVEN steps long. ELEVEN steps any time you want to start your car! I get that MFI has a "Cool" factor but I feel like an 11 step starting procedure anytime you want to drive you car is going to get old really fast. Not to mention with the right setup EFI can be made to fuel far more accurately as well. MFI parts come with a huge premium... sell them and put the money into EFI |

MFI is beyond cool but . . . Can’t imagine trying to keep it tuned in this day and age when EFI is basically the easy button. More power to OP for going the MFI route (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) |
