Should the inside of the windshield wiper mount be splined? If not, is the position maintained only by the friction pressure from the nut?
Seems like there's a chance it could flop around a bit and lose position without a spline fit.  |

So there should be splines?
The picture is from a new URO part. Both left and right wiper fittings are smooth. |

If there are no spines new, is this a one time mating procedure? Is there a torque spec for the nut? Our arms flop all over the place. I tightened the nut with what seemed like pretty good force. The inside of our arms appear stripped. Is the answer more torque on the nut? I have been reluctant to get too aggressive for fear of damaging the shafts on the wiper assembly.  |
