I'll try and simplify this- swapping engines in my '73 2.0 which I've had for 25 years (and known since new) from my '71 which I've had since new. The "1.7" has been extensively modded over the years and is a better engine than the OEM '73. Has Webers and Webcam.

Front Facet fuel pump powered by the original FI fuel pump wire at bulkhead- worked fine when removing old engine. When plugging everything back together I've lost power to the fuel pump- when jumping the wire directly to a battery it's fine. Also when checking power in the relay board, which worked fine a month ago with the OEM engine, the power pin doesn't get 12V with the ignition on. Changed the fuel pump round relay though nothing was wrong with the old one a month ago.

Been screwing with this for several days and it's driving me nuts. Sure it is something simple but what the h*ll am I missing????????

Cabman- yes the jumper is in place and was before when everything was working. As you look down on the relay board, it is in the lower left corner.

The car was converted to carbs 20 some years ago and the fuel pump wiring done at the same time. I'm not sure what wires George is talking about above, for tightness.

there is a break somewhere, maybe trace the feed wire back from the pump to the relay board, checking along the way

yes I think that also ,if that's fine my experience was a bad connection in the board even after cleaning and resealing the underside...didn't last very long so jumpered a solution off the 25amp fuse and fitted a smaller fuse, did me what I needed till I replaced the board with got spare I had, cheers.
