My fan shroud in some spots looks like it's separating. I'd like to fully seperate it and get it cleaned up and powder coated/ painted in and out. I don't see any fasteners holding it together though

It's balanced so make some witness marks so it goes together the same way.

Should be screws holding it together. There was in fact no screws holding the shroud together. One of many things I've found that show me that the shop the previous owner had put this thing together were idiots. The alternator was the only thing holding this thing together. I will need to source some replacement screws while it's at the powder coater |

maybe balancing it when you reassemble. it rotates pretty high speed at high RPM worth doing. I was wondering about the balancing comment above. Now I'm realizing i must be using the wrong verbiage. This is the piece I'm talking about. The two halves were not fastened together and after removing the alternator were able to be separated. If anyone knows what the correct size fastener is I'd be very grateful. Attached thumbnail(s) ![]() |

While working on my motor during reassembly I tried to split the halves of the shroud but it didn't bug so I decided leave it alone before I break it. |

I replaced the stock bolts with stainless Allen heads. |

Fan needs to be balanced, if you take it apart, not the shroud, I needed to take mine apart to clean the grease out of it before power coating. A bit tough to separate but it can be done.
