I'm unable to get into first gear without forcing it in unless the car has a little momentum. Reverse selection is a hell of a grind to get in also. 2nd to 5th are as smooth as silk.
All of the slector bushings were new just 2 years ago. Same for the clutch which has done less than 2000 miles. Any tips on what to look for? |

There are a few youtube channels that really get into the workings and how to repair and fix the oem transmissions. I don't know why I watch all of them as I have a 6spd, but the precision and knowledge of these mechanics and there passion for originality is awesome. I would suggest maybe reaching out to this guy. Perhaps he is a member here? |

I'd suggest starting with verifying clutch adjustment.

I'd suggest starting with verifying clutch adjustment. Yep, too often it's that and has been out of adjustment for a long time grinding off the dogteeth which is part of the grinding. Tighten it up and get it just so the throwout bearing isn't just touching the clutch plate. A old clutch cable too with lots of stretch in it also makes it hard to have a smooth gear shifting into 1st/Rev. |

I also think grinding into reverse is clutch not fully releasing.

Also, check for a possible clutch cable tube detachment in the tunnel.
