I picked up a barn find 75, 2.0 liter, 75k real miles.
New paint and interior in the early 90,s
Car is green with a white interior
It’s show winning clean.

So, if I plan to sell it after I get it running again (parked in 96)
Should I bother doing anything to the bumpers?
I’m pulling the gas tank, fuel lines and motor.
New fuel lines and flush tank.
Reseal motor, clean it.
Put it back together, get it running nice
New master cylinder.

Do I do the bumpers for the largest market appeal, or leave it stock?
Btw, the bumpers are perfect.

Keep it stock. If the new owner wants to backdate then that's their call.

You will likely lose money & the time to backdate as it's only original once.

No pics yet, it’s all covered up with blankets and I pulled the front seat to fix the stupid relay logic box under the seat.

Then a Cayenne turbo entered my life and took front stage.
That is almost done, so getting back on this 914 will happen soon.
Still a bit chilly.

Yeah, given you plan to sell it, keep it stock. If I were in the market and bought it I would prefer to buy it that way and then of course I would replace the BUBs immediately. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

If it is clean like my 75 car then just leave it. I above all people like chrome 1970 bumper’s but
Why waste the money when the next guy may want stock?

Not to mention that even though the back dated bumpers are classic looking, the big bumpers have that cool, funky 70's vibe to them.
I'm keeping the big bumpers on my 75 for that reason.

Now I just need pork chop side burns, bell bottom jeans and bushy curly hair and I'll be set

you know better than that Richard. Sell as stock looking as possible to "fetch" the most money

Hey man, saw the pics of your car. Nice! Could you tell me where you got those mirrors? IMO they are some of the nicest I’ve seen on a 914.
